About Tawak

A calm Quran habit builder, designed to be small and consistent.

Tawak is a free Islamic app for Quran reading, prayer times, and daily remembrance. It is built around a single idea: a small amount of reading done consistently is worth more than an occasional long session. Every part of the app is shaped to lower the effort of showing up, so the habit survives busy weeks and busy seasons of life.

The app has no ads, no accounts, and no subscriptions. Nothing is hidden behind a paywall and there is no sign in step, so you can open the app and read straight away.

What is inside

• Quran reading in Indopak and Uthmani script, with word by word translation and full translations in English (Khattab) and Urdu (Ahmed Ali).
• Offline tafsir from Ibn Kathir, bundled with the app so it reads with no internet connection.
• Prayer times calculated for your location, with a Qibla compass and adhan notifications.
• Widgets, twelve of them, covering prayer times, reading streaks, and a daily verse on your home screen and lock screen.
• Reading streaks and daily goals that track your progress without turning it into pressure.

Built to work offline

Quran text, both translations, Ibn Kathir tafsir, and prayer time calculations all work with no internet connection. Because Tawak has no account system, there is no server holding your reading history. Your progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored on your own device.

How it is made

Tawak is independently developed and maintained. It is released for iPhone and iPad on the App Store and for Android on Google Play, under the bundle identifier com.tawak.app on both platforms. There is no advertising network, no analytics vendor embedded in the mobile app, and no tracking of what you read.

Build on Tawak

Tawak publishes a public, read-only API and two MCP servers, and none of them need credentials or an API key. The developer portal documents the endpoints and the error format, and the full machine-readable specification is at /openapi.json.
